Job summary

Colonial School District is seeking a School Nutrition General Worker - Substitute (Casual/Seasonal) to assist in meal service for breakfast and/or lunch at various district locations. Hours are 3 per day when assigned, typically mid-morning, with compensation of $21.54 per hour.

The role supports food preparation, serving lines, cashiering, dishwashing, and maintaining sanitary kitchen and service areas. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma, reading and writing ability, and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
• ServeSafe certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Willingness to perform cashier duties and cash handling.
• Commitment to sanitation and food safety standards.
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular attendance and work in kitchen areas as assigned.
• Assist in food preparation, serving line, cashiering, dishwashing, and cleaning.
• Follow safe food-handling practices and sanitation standards.
• Learn operation and cleaning of school-nutrition equipment.
• Record daily use of food and supplies from storerooms and freezers.
• Clean and sanitize cafeteria tables after meals.
• Keep work and storage areas clean.
• Assist coworkers and address kitchen needs.
• Promote the Colonial District School Nutrition program.
• Demonstrate cooperative attitude toward staff and students.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisor.
