Job summary

Marysville School District 25 is seeking a substitute bus driver to transport students on scheduled routes and approved trips, in all weather conditions. The role requires a CDL with endorsements, First Aid/CPR, and clearance processes including fingerprinting and immunization verification.

Starting date is immediate. You must complete the district pre-approval and meet state requirements, with training provided by the MSD Transportation Department.

Qualifications

• Must complete pre-approval form before applying (see link).
• Applicant must be at least 18 years old.
• Washington State Driver's Abstract required.
• Minimum of 5 years driving experience.
• Comprehensive Washington State CDL with endorsements for School Bus Driver authorization.
• Valid First Aid/CPR Card.
• Clearance through drug/alcohol screening.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally in English.
• Experience with diversity preferred.
• Successful background/fingerprint clearance.
• Immunization proof if born 1957 or later.
• I-9 Employment Eligibility per IRCA.
• Completion of district-required training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Drive a school bus on scheduled routes and trips to support district activities.
• Inspect and service buses and related equipment.
• Maintain student safety and report unsafe acts or conditions.
• Complete forms, route studies, and reports as required by district policies.
• Operate bus according to Washington State laws and district policies.
• Attend mandatory classes related to school bus authorization.
• Perform basic bus maintenance and safety inspections.
• Maintain updated knowledge of district policies and procedures.
• Communicate professionally with students, staff, and parents.
• Adhere to all district policies and procedures.
