Job summary

Sherman Associates is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician at Bottineau Commons & Lofts in Minneapolis to perform general maintenance and keep units and common areas in top condition. You will handle repairs, preventive maintenance, and on-call coverage while supporting our affordable housing operations.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED, a craft apprenticeship if available, and 1–4 years of related maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship.
• 1–4 years of experience in maintenance or related carpentry/construction.
• Boilers license or willingness to obtain one.
• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or willingness to obtain one.
• Must provide own hand tools.
• Valid driver’s license with clean MVR.

Responsibilities

• Performs general maintenance and upkeep including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and landscaping.
• Responds to work orders and resolves resident/tenant requests within 24 hours.
• Prepares vacated apartments within 24 hours; paints, cleans, and repairs as needed.
• Schedules and completes preventive maintenance for buildings and equipment.
• Maintains exterior grounds and interior common areas in good condition.
• Ensures safety policies are followed and reports hazards.
