Job summary

First Choice Home Health & Hospice is seeking an experienced On-Call Registered Nurse (RN) to provide after-hours support for home health and hospice patients in Salt Lake County. This Part-Time / On-Call role features a rotating schedule designed for experienced nurses seeking flexible income opportunities.

You will respond to after-hours calls, assess patients remotely, and perform targeted home visits as needed.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• 2+ years of direct patient-care nursing experience.
• Strong nursing assessment and clinical decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Comfortable working independently in patients' homes.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to travel throughout Salt Lake County during assigned coverage.
• Dependable and responsive during your on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Respond to after-hours patient and caregiver calls.
• Assess patient needs by phone and determine when an in-person visit is appropriate.
• Complete home health and hospice nursing visits as needed.
• Assess changes in patient condition.
• Provide symptom management and nursing interventions according to the plan of care.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
• Educate and support patients, families, and caregivers.
• Communicate changes in condition to the clinical team.
• Coordinate with physicians and other providers when needed.
• Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Support hospice patients and families during urgent or end-of-life situations.

Flexible On-Call Nursing with a Predictable Rotation

First Choice Home Health & Hospice is hiring an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide after-hours support for our home health and hospice patients throughout Maricopa County.

The current rotation is one week on, followed by two weeks off, making this a great opportunity for an experienced RN who wants to supplement their income without adding another traditional nursing schedule.

You are paid $3 per hour while assigned to on-call availability, plus $75–$125 for each completed patient visit, depending on visit type.

What You’ll Do

As an On-Call RN, you'll provide after-hours clinical support to patients and families when needs arise outside normal business hours.

Compensation

• $3.00 per hour while assigned to on-call availability
