Job summary

Essex Property Trust is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventive maintenance across properties, ensuring safe and high‑quality living environments for residents. You will handle HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliance repairs, prepare units for new residents, and maintain building systems and common areas.

The role requires on-site work, a five‑day schedule, and on‑call availability for emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• 2+ years in property management or related experience preferred.
• HVAC and/or CPO license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliances.
• Prepare vacant units for new residents, including painting and repairs.
• Conduct regular inspections and follow a preventive maintenance schedule.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests and be on-call as required.
• Maintain safety compliance and report hazards to management.
• Keep maintenance shop organized and stocked with supplies.
• Complete work orders and document maintenance activities.
