Job summary

Essex Property Trust is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance across one or more properties in the San Diego area. You'll handle unit turns, grounds, clubhouse and common areas to preserve asset quality and resident satisfaction.

The role reports to the Community Manager or Maintenance Supervisor. A high school diploma or GED and 2+ years in property management or related field are required, with HVAC and/or CPO license preferred.

Qualifications

• HVAC, electrical, and appliance repair knowledge
• English literacy (read, write, speak) required
• Must have valid driver’s license for on-site operations

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems
• Prepare vacant units including painting and repairs
• Conduct regular property inspections and preventive maintenance
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests and on-call duties
• Ensure safety regulations and building codes are followed
