Job summary

Northside Center for Child Development is seeking a Substitute Preschool Teacher Aide to provide classroom support for children ages 1–5 on an as-needed, on-call basis. You will work under the Lead Teacher, assisting with routines, supervision, and developmentally appropriate activities to nurture curiosity, independence, and emotional well-being.

You will actively assist during play, meals, rest, and transitions, maintaining a safe environment and positive relationships with staff and families.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with children ages 1–5 in childcare or early education preferred.
• CDA or early childhood coursework, or willingness to pursue.
• Positive, patient, and dependable.
• Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency procedures.
• Proficiency with educational tools and classroom technology.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers during activities, help with play, meals, rest, and outdoor experiences.
• Maintain active supervision of children ages 1-5, fostering safety and nurturing.
• Support daily routines and smooth transitions between activities.
• Keep a clean, organized, welcoming classroom environment.
