Job summary

Stanton Norfolk Inc. is seeking a Porter/Assistant Handyman in Harlem to maintain daily clean and functioning conditions in mixed-use buildings.

The role includes removing debris, restocking bathrooms, responding to cleaning emergencies, and assisting with non-technical maintenance tasks across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry and custodial work. The position requires full-time hours, on-call during off-hours, and on-site presence.

Qualifications

• Experience as Porter/Janitor/Custodian is a plus.
• Bilingual ability is a plus (English/Spanish or English/Chinese).
• Positive attitude and good communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain building common areas and restock bathrooms.
• Respond to cleaning emergencies and basic maintenance tasks.
• Keep sidewalks and floors clean, sweep and mop public areas regularly.
• Assist with painting, carpentry, plumbing and general repairs as needed.
• Report safety issues and coordinate with management.
