Job summary

Asian Americans for Equality (Stanton Norfolk division) is seeking a Porter to maintain a mixed-use building in Flushing, Queens. You will perform daily cleaning, painting, and emergency response to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for tenants.

The role requires full-time on-site work with responsibilities spanning debris removal, restocking, log keeping, and coordination with management to address maintenance needs.

Qualifications

• Bilingual is a plus (English/Spanish, English/Chinese, or English/Korean).
• Positive attitude and good communication skills.
• Availability to work in shifts and with flexible schedules (weekends/evenings).

Responsibilities

• Regular full-time 40 hours weekly; on-call for emergencies.
• Paint apartments and building areas; ensure neat, respectful work.
• Maintain weekly time log and submit to building manager.
• Sweep and mop public areas; manage garbage/recycling per NYC rules.
• Assist with snow removal and report any defects or safety issues.
• Supervise outside contractors and ensure access only for approved personnel.
• Keep vacant apartments clean and secure; assist with repairs coordination.
• Report accidents promptly to management; maintain professional appearance.
