Job summary

Stanton Norfolk Inc., a division of Asian Americans for Equality (AAFE), seeks a Porter to maintain daily cleanliness and order in a mixed-use building on the Lower East Side, Manhattan. Responsibilities include debris removal, area maintenance, and responding to cleaning emergencies.

The role requires prior Porter/Janitor experience as a plus, bilingual communication ability, a positive attitude, and flexible scheduling (including weekends/evenings).

Qualifications

• Previous work experience as a Porter, Janitor, or Custodian is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily cleaning of a mixed-use building in Lower East Side Manhattan for occupants.
• Keep sidewalks and common areas clean; sweep, mop, and restock bathrooms as needed.
• Report maintenance issues to management and supervise outside contractors when required.
• Assist with garbage disposal, recycling, and snow/ice management.
• Ensure vacant apartments are clean and secure; log daily activities for management.
