Job summary

City College of San Francisco is seeking a pool lifeguard to supervise the campus pool, protect students and swimmers, and enforce safety rules during classes and public sessions at the district-operated facility.

This part-time, on-site position requires lifeguard certification, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and related first-aid credentials, with on-call shifts including mornings, weekends, and evenings.

Qualifications

• Lifeguarding issued by ARC or equivalent.
• CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer issued by ARC or equivalent.
• Oxygen Administration for the Professional Rescuer within 12 months of appointment.
• Title 22 – First Aid for Public Safety Personnel within 12 months of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Patrol and monitor pool activities to prevent accidents and identify distressed individuals.
• Conduct rescue operations and provide lifesaving measures as needed.
• Enforce pool rules and maintain order around the pool area.
• Inspect pool facilities and perform cleaning and disinfection duties.
• Prepare facility for aquatic events and manage equipment storage.
• Collect revenue and greet pool guests; provide customer service.
• Prepare incident and accident reports; perform related duties as assigned.
