Job summary

A California community college district is seeking a Lifeguard (Short-term) to ensure the safety of swimmers. The ideal candidate will supervise aquatic activities, enforce safety protocols, and maintain lifesaving equipment. A Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certificate is required. This temporary position does not include benefits and is contingent upon Board approval through June 30, 2026. Join us to promote safety and assist in aquatics programming.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for overseeing the safety of all swimmers, executing coordinated efforts with fellow lifeguards on deck in assistance of aquatics programming.
• Practices cohesive, cooperative strategies, with responsible implementation of safety protocols as required by statute and District regulations and may be asked to participate in the training and daily practice of lifeguards and other assigned safety functions.
• Monitors maintenance, safety kits and assurances of lifesaving equipment, including AEDs at the beginning of each shift.
• Supports co-workers and team in ease and cooperation of procedures for staff.
• Monitors and reports any observed safety or facility compliance concerns with awareness of State and County standards.

Job Requirements

• Certified pool operator (CPO) certificate.

Due to the temporary nature of this position, benefits are not included.
