Job summary

Whiting Forensic Hospital is seeking on-call physicians to cover 16-hour weekday shifts and 24-hour weekend shifts at our Middletown, CT facility. The role includes supervising medical care for patients, diagnosing and treating conditions, and coordinating with treatment teams to support recovery.

Applicants should have completed an MD degree, and be prepared to meet state requirements for medical practice.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medicine, psychiatry, and substance abuse treatment.
• Ability to develop and monitor integrated treatment plans.
• Skill in examining, diagnosing and treating patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour medical supervision to patients and hospital coverage as scheduled, including on-call and weekend coverage.
• Examine, diagnose and medically treat patients; order and interpret tests.
• Coordinate treatment with other therapeutic programs and treatment teams; maintain medical records.
