Job summary

Gundersen Health System Ambulance (GHSA) seeks a casual on-call Paramedic to support Sparta and Tomah ambulance teams. You will deliver high-level pre-hospital care and operate across Rural 911 and interfacility transfer settings.

Responsibilities include responding, treating, and transporting patients of all ages under Gundersen Medical Direction. Starting pay is $24.36 per hour, with flexible shifts and non-benefit eligibility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency.
• ICS 100, 200 and 700 certificates required within 60 days of hire.
• Certified Emergency Vehicle Operation (CEVO) or equivalent required within 60 days of hire date.
• Must have a paramedic license in Wisconsin to begin employment, with paramedic licenses in Minnesota required within 60 days of hire date.
• National Registry of EMTs as a National Paramedic (NRP).
• Valid Wisconsin, Minnesota or Iowa driver's license.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (with hands on learning).
• Registered nurses with RN Exemption may replace NRP/Paramedic licenses for this position if applicable

Responsibilities

• Respond, treat, and transport patients in emergency and non-emergency settings.
• Function as a crew member of an ambulance in Rural 911, paramedic intercepts, and interfacility transfer environments.
• Provide transfer services for Gundersen Critical Access hospitals and non-affiliated hospitals in the region.
• Perform Paramedic-level clinical care to patients of all ages under medical direction.
