Job summary

Chronicle Heritage is seeking Paleontological Field Technicians to support projects across the Western United States. The role will assist the Field Director and Project Team in completing paleontological surveys, monitoring, fossil prospecting, site documentation, and resource recording in Western U.S.

Preference given to local candidates. Per diem provided for out-of-town stays; lodging may be camping or hotel depending on location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in paleontology, geology, biology, or a closely related field.
• Successful completion of a paleontology field school or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• 4 months or more of experience conducting paleontological fieldwork.
• Frequent out-of-town travel, potentially for extended periods of time.
• Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Support surveys, monitoring, fossil prospecting, site documentation, and recording.
• Assist Field Director and Project Team in Western U.S. projects.
• Travel as needed; lodging per diem provided.
