Job summary

Chronicle Heritage in California is seeking Archaeological Field Technicians to support statewide projects. The on-site role will assist the Field Director and Project Team with pedestrian surveys, monitoring, testing, site delineation and recording across Northern, Central, and Southern California.

Per diem is provided for out-of-town stays with lodging either camping or hotel depending on location. A Bachelor’s degree in archaeology/anthropology and field school experience are required, along

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in archaeology/anthropology or related field.
• Field school completion or equivalent archaeology experience.
• 4+ months of survey fieldwork experience.
• Willingness to travel out of town frequently.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Field Director and project team with pedestrian surveys and monitoring.
• Perform testing, site delineation, and recording.
• Support California project work across Northern, Central, and Southern California.
• Per diem lodging arrangements may apply for out-of-town stays.

Skills

Bachelor’s degree in archaeology/anth

Archaeology field school or equivalent

4+ months survey fieldwork experience
