Job summary

University of California - San Diego Medical Centers seeks an Assistant Coordinator to respond to organ donor referrals from San Diego and Imperial County hospitals. You will travel between sites, gather information on-site within two hours of referrals, and document in Lifesharing promptly.

On-site visits to referrals occur daily; you will assist Procurement Coordinators during donor cases with forms and charting, and communicate findings clearly to hospital staff.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid driver's license and driving record.
• Some experience in the medical field or Organ Procurement or equivalent college coursework.
• Experience with EMR systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to organ donor referrals from hospitals within the service area.
• Conduct daily on-site visits of existing referrals and assist during donor cases with forms and charting.
• Travel to multiple hospital locations as needed and communicate findings to the Administrator on Call.
• Operate on a 24-hour call schedule with flexibility to travel at short notice.
