Job summary

UC San Diego is seeking an Assistant Coordinator to respond to organ donor referrals from hospitals in San Diego and Imperial County. The role requires frequent travel between sites and on-site information gathering within 2 hours of referrals, with timely documentation in Lifesharing.

The position supports Procurement Coordinators, performing on-site visits and assisting with forms, charting data, and other necessary records.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid driver’s license and have a driving record conforming to local policy/Procedures.
• Some experience in the medical field or Organ Procurement or equivalent college coursework.
• Experience with documentation and charting within EMR systems (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Respond to organ donor referrals from San Diego and Imperial County hospitals.
• Obtain information on-site from hospital staff within 2 hours of referral and document in Lifesharing EMR promptly.
• Conduct daily on-site visits of existing referrals and assist Coordinators during donor cases with forms and charting.
• Work on a 24-hour call schedule and travel between multiple hospital locations as needed.
