Job summary

MedStar Health in the Washington, DC area seeks a Surgical Technician to perform scrub duties across simple to complex surgical interventions. You will assess instrument sets, equipment, and supply needs for each case, and help ensure the care plan developed with the team is implemented to meet performance standards.

The role requires an on-call commitment, with 3 weeks onsite onboarding, 2 eight-hour shifts per six-week cycle, and a 60-minute call response.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Formal Surgical Tech Training Program required.
• Associate's degree in Surgical Technology preferred.
• 2 years multispecialty operating room experience required.
• CST preferred; CPR within 90 days required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scrub duties in simple to complex surgical interventions.
• Assess and assemble instrument equipment and supplies for each case.
• Ensure plan of care from the team is implemented to standards.
• Maintain a safe patient environment and assist in training new staff.
• Adhere to aseptic technique and conduct counts per policy.
