Job summary

Paycom is seeking a motivated Scrub Tech for our surgical team at Adventist Healthcare SC at National Harbor, Oxon Hill, MD. This position offers a pay rate of $30.00 – $38.00 hourly, and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, critical role.

Job Details: Job Location: Adventist Healthcare SC at National Harbor – Oxon Hill, MD 20745. Position Type: Per Diem. Salary Range: $30.00 – $38.00 Hourly.

We’re looking for a motivated and detail‑driven Scrub Tech to join our surgical team. If you thrive in a fast‑paced environment, enjoy hands‑on work, and love being a critical part of delivering excellent patient care, this role is for you. As a Scrub Tech, you’ll help maintain a sterile environment in the operating room, support surgeons and nurses during procedures, and play an essential role in ensuring safe and successful surgical outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a sterile field and uphold all principles of aseptic technique.
  • Assist the surgical team by passing instruments, supplies, sutures, and equipment.
  • Prepare equipment, instruments, and operating rooms before procedures.
  • Assist with scrubbing, gowning, and gloving for the surgical team.
  • Prepare dressings and assist with postoperative bandage application.
  • Operate, adjust, and monitor surgical and sterile processing equipment.
  • Position and prepare patients for surgery while ensuring safety and comfort.
  • Participate in instrument, sponge, and sharps counts.
  • Clean and restock the operating room following procedures.
  • Support compliance with accreditation and departmental standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and center information.
  • Assist with supply and equipment maintenance.
  • Document accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Respond quickly to changing patient or surgical needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a fast‑paced surgical environment.
  • Ability to recognize and respond to equipment alarms.
  • Strong listening and communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Word).
  • Problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
  • Strong understanding of sterile technique and surgical procedures.
  • Visual acuity for detailed work and the ability to distinguish color.
  • Logical reasoning and sound judgment skills.
Qualifications
  • Completion of a post‑high school Surgical Technology program.
  • CST or CORT certification preferred.
  • One year of experience in a surgical setting.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
