Job summary

Harbor Group Management Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain property integrity and appearance, handle resident service requests, and support efficient operations. Responsibilities include plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, appliance repair, and routine preventative maintenance on buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas.

The role requires timely responses to work orders, safety adherence, and effective coordination with contractors.

Qualifications

• One year of general maintenance experience including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting or appliance repair.
• HVAC certification preferred; EPA Type I & II or Universal for refrigerant handling.
• Multifamily (apartment) maintenance experience desired.
• Emergency on-call availability including evenings and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license is required for on-site work.
• Customer-service oriented with residents and good communication.
• Follow safety guidelines and company/state regulations.
• Any other required certifications per local/state laws.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, appliance repair, and glass replacement.
• Respond to resident service requests promptly using a work order system.
• Conduct preventative maintenance across the property for safe operation.
• Prepare vacant units by inspecting, punching lists, scheduling contractors, and quality checks.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of amenities and common spaces.
• Manage tools, materials, inventory, and notify about reorder needs.
• Repair rather than replace to control costs and waste.
• Attend safety meetings and OSHA training; report incidents accurately.
• Inspect vendor/contractor work for quality and scope compliance.
• Assist in property inspections to identify maintenance needs.
