Job summary

Harbor Group Management Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician to protect the physical integrity and appearance of our Long Beach property. You will perform plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance repairs, while addressing resident service requests and preparing units for new residents.

You will work to maintain amenities, manage tools and inventory, and uphold safety standards, with on-call responsibilities including evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• One year of general maintenance experience including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, or appliance repair.
• HVAC certification preferred; EPA Type I & II or Universal certification for refrigerant handling.
• Multifamily (apartment) maintenance experience highly desired.
• Must be available for emergency on-call, including evenings and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Candidate should be customer-service oriented with residents.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety guidelines.
• Any other certifications as required by local and state laws.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical and mechanical maintenance across the property (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry).
• Respond to resident service requests using a work order system and complete repairs.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and safety checks to ensure efficient operation.
• Prepare vacant units with inspections, punch lists, scheduling contractors, repairs, and quality checks.
• Maintain clean and functional amenity areas and common spaces.
• Manage maintenance tools and materials, track inventory, and notify supervisors when to reorder.
• Repair rather than replace parts to control costs.
• Attend safety meetings and OSHA training, and report incidents accurately.
• Inspect vendor work to ensure quality and scope compliance.
• Assist in property inspections to identify maintenance needs and proper upkeep.
