Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist II in North Bergen, NJ. This hospital-based role operates on every other weekend from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM and offers a pay range from $33.00 to $47.50 per hour with potential shift differentials.

Qualified candidates will have a BS/BA in Medical Technology, Chemistry or Biology (or an Associate degree in a Laboratory Science) and may possess ASCP certification. One year of high-complexity lab experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Medical Technology, Chemistry or Biology or Associates degree in Laboratory Science/Medical Technology.
• ASCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform test procedures of moderate/high complexity with independent judgment.
• Provide QC/support, instrument maintenance, staff training and process improvement.
• Perform and report tests per SOP, ensure quality control requirements are met.
• Maintain records, handle specimens, and ensure timely reporting of results.
• Enter results into the Laboratory Information System and ensure lab safety.
• Assist with training and adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA requirements.
