Job summary

TC Energy is seeking a multiskilled Mechanical Technician for the USGO Heartland - Rock River Valley Area. The role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and operating a natural gas compressor station and related equipment, with duties ranging from preventive maintenance to coordinating with gas control.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong problem solving, communication, and decision making, and is able to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Thorough understanding of stop work authority (SWA) and safe work practices.
• Knowledge of lock out/tag out (LOTO) procedures.
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and related software.
• Experience operating/maintaining gas engines, compressors and automatic control equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, overhaul and repair of compressor station equipment.
• Work from blueprints and construction drawings.
• Inspect for gas leaks and maintain safety equipment.
• Troubleshoot automatic control systems (electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic).
• Coordinate with gas control regarding scheduling of maintenance.
• Manage contractors and vendors on-site.
