Job summary

TC Energy in Illinois is seeking a multiskilled Mechanical Technician to troubleshoot, maintain, and operate a natural gas compressor station and related equipment. The role requires a self-starter attitude, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as part of a rotating on-call schedule.

You will work from blueprints, coordinate with contractors, and ensure safe, compliant operation of facility while performing preventive maintenance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with gas engines, compressors and control equipment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, overhaul and repair of compressor station equipment per procedures.
• Inspect for gas leaks and maintain safety equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.
• Coordinate with gas control on maintenance scheduling.
• Enter data into SAP and complete work orders and forms.
• Manage contractors on-site and ensure compliance with safety rules.
