Job summary

MidPen Housing Corp. is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Homestead Park, Moulton Plaza in Sunnyvale, CA. The role supports safe, affordable housing through hands-on electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and landscaping tasks, reporting to the Community Manager.

You’ll handle turnovers, supervise junior staff, and coordinate with contractors to ensure timely completions. A strong focus on safety and resident service guides daily duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with three years of maintenance experience.
• Extensive plumbing knowledge with electrical repair experience.
• Rough and finish carpentry experience for structural and cosmetic repairs.
• Basic OSHA safety knowledge and landscape maintenance practices.
• Strong coaching and training abilities; good written and verbal communication.
• Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various conditions.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for 24/7 emergency maintenance.
• Perform maintenance on electrical systems, plumbing, and carpentry tasks.
• Prepare vacant units for re-occupancy, including painting and fixture installation.
• Maintain landscaping, irrigation, and common areas to MidPen standards.
• Coach and supervise Maintenance Groundskeeper staff and assist with training.
• Coordinate with contractors and monitor scheduled work and bidding processes.
• Maintain work orders, inventories, and assist with move-ins/outs and inspections.
• Other duties as assigned.
