Job summary

Colonial Williamsburg Foundation is seeking a hotel maintenance technician to perform basic services and repairs across rooms, public spaces, offices, and grounds in our historic hotels and conference centers. The role emphasizes safety, compliance with OSHA guidelines, and timely repair responses.

The position requires two years of hotel maintenance experience, strong communication, and the ability to read architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel maintenance tasks.
• Two years of experience in hotel maintenance with knowledge of painting; light mechanical, plumbing, and electronics.
• Ability to read and explain architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing problems.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must possess a valid Virginia driver’s license and have a safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic services and simple repairs for rooms, public spaces, offices, back of house spaces, and grounds in and around the hotels and conference centers.
• Knowledge of painting; light mechanical, plumbing problems, and resolving minor problems with electronic devices.
• Monitors spaces for safety concerns and initiates corrective actions.
• Patches and repairs drywall, touches up paint, and performs basic maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Provide on-call coverage 24 hours a day when scheduled; may work nights, weekends, or shifts.
