Job summary

Duke Energy is hiring for Line Apprentice roles (3 or 4) with learning-focused training to support distribution operations. The position involves 24/7 on-call availability, learning to perform duties safely, and progressing through training modules for line and service work.

Applicants should have a High School diploma or equivalent, a valid CDL, and prior climbing experience. The role requires readiness to work variable hours, including outages or emergencies, and to relocate within 12 months

Qualifications

• Requires strong leadership in promoting personal and work group safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist with construction and maintenance of the distribution system.
• Demonstrate understanding of overhead and underground insulation/isolation principles.
• Understand the electrical distribution system by completing Line and Service Training modules.
• Maintain safety practices to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Develop positive working relationships to coordinate work activities.
• Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
• Maintain accurate records and files.
• Represent the company positively and professionally.
