Job summary

Stars Behavioral Health Group is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Technician for the Fresno Crisis Residential Treatment Facility. The role is per diem, with shifts including AM and NOC coverage in Fresno, CA.

The successful candidate will provide direct nursing care, administer medications, and supervise nursing staff on shift. Minimum one year nursing experience in an inpatient setting is required, with preferred medication administration experience and an associate

• Administer and document medications per orders and verify receipt from pharmacy.
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation and prepare weekly client summaries.

Starting Compensation: 32.00 - 34.00 USD Per Hour

Working Location: Fresno, CA

Working Hours/Shift: Per Diem coverage needed for Sunday Monday Tuesday AM: 6am to 630pm or NOC: 6pm to 630am

What you bring to SBHG

• Licensure: A valid California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) license is required.
• Education: High School diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED, HiSET) is required. An associate degree in nursing or a social science field is preferred.
• Experience: One (1) year of nursing experience is required, preferably treating individuals with mental illness in an inpatient setting. (Clinical nursing school rotations may be substituted for a portion of this work experience). One (1) year of medication administration experience is preferred.

How you will make a difference

Provides direct nursing care to clients and supervises nursing staff during the assigned shift to ensure safe, high-quality care. Plans, organizes, and directs daily nursing activities by making shift assignments and monitoring service delivery. Observes, documents, and communicates changes in clients’ physical and mental conditions to the Program Manager and attending physician or nurse practitioner. Administers and documents medications in accordance with prescribed orders and verifies the receipt of all ordered medications from the pharmacy. Maintains accurate and timely nursing documentation, prepares weekly client summaries as assigned, and ensures compliance with medical record and regulatory requirements.

Facility & Setting: 24/7 inpatient voluntary program, 16-bed facility

Clinical Services: Rehabilitation/recovery services, including substance use rehabilitation services

Length of Stay: 30 day stay

Skills & Services: Pre-vocational or vocational counseling and medication evaluation and support services.
