Job summary

Stars Behavioral Health Group is seeking a Part-Time Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Technician to work in our Crisis Residential Treatment Facility in Fresno, CA, providing compassionate, patient-centered nursing care in an inpatient setting.

You will work the overnight shift with a $2 NOC differential, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to monitor, document, and adjust care plans for adults with mental health needs.

Qualifications

• California LVN or LPT license required.
• High School diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• 1 year nursing experience required, preferably in mental health inpatient setting.
• 1 year medication administration experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to clients and supervise staff on shift to ensure safe, high-quality care.
• Plan, organize, and direct daily nursing activities and shift assignments.
• Observe, document, and communicate changes in physical and mental conditions to supervisor/physician.
• Administer and document medications per orders and verify medications from pharmacy.

Job Title: Part-Times Licensed Vocational Nurse / Licensed Psychiatric Technician

Division/Program: Crisis Residential Treatment Facility

Starting Compensation: 32.00 - 34.00 USD Per Hour

Working Location: Fresno, CA

Working Hours/Shift: Every Wednesday, 1800-0630 NOC/Overnight.

$2 NOC Shift Differential

What you bring to SBHG:

• Licensure: A valid California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) license is required.
• Education: High School diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED, HiSET) is required. An associate degree in nursing or a social science field is preferred.
• Experience: One (1) year of nursing experience is required, preferably treating individuals with mental illness in an inpatient setting. (Clinical nursing school rotations may be substituted for a portion of this work experience). One (1) year of medication administration experience is preferred.

How you will make a difference:

• Provides direct nursing care to clients and supervises nursing staff during the assigned shift to ensure safe, high-quality care.
• Plans, organizes, and directs daily nursing activities by making shift assignments and monitoring service delivery.
• Observes, documents, and communicates changes in clients’ physical and mental conditions to the Program Manager and attending physician or nurse practitioner.
• Administers and documents medications in accordance with prescribed orders and verifies the receipt of all ordered medications from the pharmacy.
• Maintains accurate and timely nursing documentation, prepares weekly client summaries as assigned, and ensures compliance with medical record and regulatory requirements.

• Population Served: Serving adults, ages 18-59
• Facility & Setting: 24/7 inpatient voluntary program, 16-bed facility
• Clinical Services: Rehabilitation/recovery services, including substance use rehabilitation services
• Length of Stay: 30 day stay
• Skills & Services: Pre-vocational or vocational counseling and medication evaluation and support services.
