Job summary

Lake County Government in Leadville, Colorado, is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the Senior Center's meal program under the Aging Well Coordinator. This on-call, non-exempt role focuses on food preparation and cleanup, with hours scheduled as needed Tuesday through Friday.

You will assist the Head Cook, follow health codes, help with inventory, greet seniors, and maintain a clean, safe kitchen and dining area.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines.
• Flexible schedule including extended hours.
• Valid Colorado driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Clear oral and written communication.
• Willingness to assist the senior community.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Cook with food preparation and cleanup.
• Follow policies on food storage, preparation, and service and health codes.
• Participate in inventory as required and assist with records.
• Greet seniors in person and by phone and provide information and referrals.
