Job summary

LifeWorks NW currently seeks an On Call, Intake Coordinator to assist consumers with obtaining benefits and social services, determine insurance eligibility, and schedule providers. The role collaborates with multiple departments to maximize third-party reimbursement and triages calls from hospitals, referrals, clients, and internal staff.

The position is based at our Sylvan location in Oregon and offers hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with medical insurance and billing; understanding of managed care.
• Strong computer skills and ability to type 45 wpm.
• Proficiency with Outlook, Word and Excel; ability to learn proprietary software.
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a diverse environment.
• May require fluency in another language.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and refer clients to public or private agencies for assistance.
• Verify insurance information by phone or state systems.
• Schedule intakes and collect intake information.
• Check Oregon Health Plan eligibility and enrollments at month end.
• Coordinate authorizations for service during insurance verification.
• Manage multiple software applications and data entry tasks.
• Type at least 45 wpm and transcribe audio to word processing.
• Respond to email/voicemail promptly.
• Keep records and prepare access reports on client visits.
• Interview individuals and families to gather social, educational, and history information.
• Provide information and refer to services and procedures.
