Job summary

MRC Global US Inc. is seeking a customer-oriented professional to deliver responsive support and drive gross margin growth across branch operations.

You will respond to inquiries, develop accounts, generate quotes, and coordinate with internal teams to meet customer requirements and ensure timely delivery. You will analyze the quote process, offer product prices and terms, and seek opportunities to expand market share while maintaining high-quality customer service and compliance with company

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus any post-secondary training or education.
• Two+ years of experience with Pipe, Valves & Fittings or in a role with increasing responsibility, including leadership/supervisory duties.
• Proficiency in using computers and software applications.
• Ability to communicate and promote ideas and transfer detailed knowledge to others.
• Ability to present information effectively in one-to-one and small group settings.
• Willingness and ability to be on call to provide 24-hour service to customers.
• Willingness to travel within and outside the branch area, with possible overnight stays.
• Valid Driver’s license and ability to meet company vehicle policy.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incoming customer inquiries and develop accounts.
• Generate quotes using the MRC Global database and maximize gross margin.
• Identify opportunities to increase market share and sales.
• Provide product prices, delivery specs, terms, and substitute products where appropriate.
• Assist outside sales or branch management with priority transactions.
• Maintain accurate customer files and manage orders and discounts as needed.
• Communicate with customers and colleagues to provide technical information and support.
• Monitor ship dates and expedite deliveries as needed.
• Support safety and operational standards and report hazards.
