Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an On Call Infusion Center Registered Nurse at the Melchiorre Cancer Center in Livingston, NJ. The RN will perform comprehensive assessments, administer chemotherapy and biotherapy, manage vascular accesses, and educate patients and families on treatment plans and side effects.

The role requires NJ RN license, BSN preferred, and oncology certifications as applicable, with per diem schedule and day shifts.

Qualifications

• Must hold active New Jersey RN license.
• BSN degree preferred; higher education valued.
• BLS certification required or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• IV certification required or achieved within 90 days of hire.
• Oncology Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification (ONS) preferred or equivalent.
• Oncology continuing education credits as per Commission on Cancer guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments and reassessments.
• Administer and monitor chemotherapy and biotherapy.
• Manage hematology/oncology patient needs including central lines and venous access devices.
• Educate patients and families about treatments, medications, side effects, and self-care.
• Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, social services, discharge planners, and the cancer care team.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and medication reconciliation.
• Assist with Infusion Center operations and leadership responsibilities when needed.
