Job summary

Parametrix in the Puget Sound region seeks On-Call Construction Inspectors to support public infrastructure projects, including roadway and utility construction. The role may involve travel to the Puget Sound area or the Yuma, Arizona area, and requires strong field inspection skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction inspection experience, preferably on public infrastructure.
• Ability to interpret construction specifications and drawings.
• Understanding of WSDOT and local municipal construction standards, methods and materials.
• Background in water/wastewater utility systems including pipe installation, pump stations, and treatment facilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily on-site inspections of roadways, utilities and related construction projects, ensuring compliance with plans, specs, codes and standards.
• Monitor contractor activities for safety, quality, environmental and contract conformity.
• Document field activities, progress, and deviations through daily inspection reports, photos, and logs.
• Review and verify contractor quantities for payment and assist in preparation of progress pay estimates.
• Support QA/QC efforts including materials testing coordination and verification.
• Coordinate with contractors, design teams, client representatives, utility providers, inspectors and jurisdictions.
• Identify non-conforming work, propose corrective actions, and track resolutions.
• Assist in project closeout including punch lists, record drawings and final inspections.
