Job summary

Lucas Metropolitan Housing is seeking an HVAC/R Technician to assist the supervisor in maintaining Authority properties. The role covers inspection, installation, and repair of heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration systems, all while supporting the Authority’s mission.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance, documentation, and after-hours emergency response. A valid Ohio or Michigan driver’s license and HVAC/R certification (preferred) are required, with at least 3

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; HVAC/R certification preferred.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in HVAC installation, service, and repair.
Must possess valid Ohio or Michigan driver's license and be insurable.

Responsibilities

Inspects, installs, and repairs HVAC/R systems per specifications.
Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC/R systems.
Tests and inspects appliances; recommends shutdown for repair or replacement as necessary.
Documents and submits work records regarding repairs, materials used, and time needed.
Performs minor cleaning and fumigation of appliances for recycling.
Develops and maintains CFC log manuals.
Assists HVAC supervisor in shipment tracking and provides updates to the main office.
Assists with loading, transporting, and unloading of appliances.
Performs after-hours emergency service on a scheduled or rotating basis.
Maintains OSHA/PERRP safety standards and licenses as required.
