Job summary

Cardinal Health manages the pharmacy at PAM Specialty Hospital of Las Vegas. We are recruiting for a PRN Pharmacist to work as needed during facility hours and on call. The facility hours are Mon-Fri 8:00AM-6:00PM, Sat-Sun 8:00AM-4:00PM, with after-hours on call.

Clinical hospital experience is highly preferred. Ideal candidates have a clinical pharmacy background, Nevada license in good standing, and demonstrate strong patient-care and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
• Nevada pharmacist license in good standing required.
• Hospital/inpatient pharmacy experience preferred.
• IV and sterile compounding experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly with healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

• Interprets medical orders and transcribes to patient profiles.
• Maintains accurate patient medication profiles.
• Compounds and dispenses pharmaceuticals, including sterile, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition products.
• Issues controlled substances and maintains records per law.
• Monitors drug therapy for interactions and appropriateness.
• Assists with pharmacokinetics consults and dosing per protocol.
• Reviews culture and susceptibility data for antibiotic appropriateness.
• Detects and reports adverse drug reactions.
• Sustains formulary and promotes rational drug therapy.
• Provides clinical consultation to practitioners.
• Suggests cost-effective therapeutic alternatives.
• Documents clinical activities and interventions.
• Participates in quality improvement and medication use review activities.
• Collects data; conducts quality monitoring; maintains logs and records.
• Participates in orientation, education, and training programs.
• Other duties as assigned.
