Job summary

Blue Summit Hospice and Palliative Care in Roswell, GA, is seeking a dedicated RN on-call to provide compassionate hospice nursing during weeknights. The role focuses on timely assessments, symptom management, and supportive communication with patients and families.

The RN on-call will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, document care accurately, and ensure adherence to regulatory standards while delivering dignified end-of-life care in a home or facility setting.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in the state of practice in the United States.
• Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in hospice, palliative care, or related settings.
• Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and symptom management.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Availability to work weeknight shifts Monday through Friday as the on-call nurse.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to clinical inquiries and emergencies from patients, families, and staff during weeknights.
• Provide expert nursing assessment and symptom management to ensure patient comfort and quality of life.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary hospice team members to coordinate care plans and communicate changes in patient status.
• Document all patient interactions, clinical decisions, and interventions accurately and timely per regulatory standards.
• Offer emotional support and education to patients and families regarding disease progression, medication use, and hospice services.
