Resource 1 Staffing seeks an On-Call Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) for Fremont, NE. The role involves organizing and directing hospice care with emphasis on community health education, primarily in patients' homes. Schedule is 7On/7Off, with 5p-8a shifts on weekdays and weekends.

The RN will assess patients, develop and adjust care plans, administer medications, and coordinate with families and physicians to provide compassionate end-of-life care.

Qualifications

• Passion for hospice care and ability to build relationships with patients and families.
• Ability to work with little direct supervision.
• Valid driver's license and insured car.
• 1-2 years of acute care experience; home care experience preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Understands hospice philosophy and comfort with death/dying.
• Empathy for ill, injured, and frail individuals.
• Calm demeanor when visiting patients' homes.

Responsibilities

• Receive and respond to calls during shifts; visit patients with changing conditions.
• Complete initial and ongoing patient/family assessments and care planning.
• Provide professional nursing care and utilize the nursing process.
• Develop and revise plans of care with patient and family involvement.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Counsel patients and families; deliver health care instructions.
• Assist with activities of daily living and support self-sufficiency.
• Maintain accurate clinical notes and report changes to physicians.
• Coordinate care with the hospice team and community resources.
• Attend interdisciplinary group meetings and ensure equipment/services availability.
