Job summary

Generations Hospice is seeking an On-Call Registered Nurse to cover after-hours shifts in a compassionate, patient-centered environment. You will collaborate with a remote triage team to deliver hands-on hospice care, assess symptoms, administer medications, and coordinate with physicians for orders.

A one-on-one care approach supports families, while documentation keeps the care team aligned. The position offers a $7,500 sign-on bonus, full-time status, and travel across the territory as

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current state licensure.
• 1 year nursing experience required; 3+ years preferred.
• Hospice experience preferred.
• Knowledge of the hospice philosophy of care.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a vehicle insured as per state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Remote Triage On Call Team to deliver hands-on care to hospice patients after hours.
• Assess and manage urgent symptoms quickly and compassionately.
• Administer medication or adjust care per hospice protocols or orders.
• Communicate with the physician regarding changes in condition and obtain orders as necessary.
• Offer guidance and support to patients and families about current condition and next steps.
• If death occurs during on-call hours, pronounce death, assist the family, contact the funeral home, and notify the hospice team.
• Complete timely documentation and communication.
