Job summary

Jericho Project is seeking a full-time Handyperson for a 76-unit Permanent Supportive Housing residence for veterans in Kingsbridge Terrace, Bronx. The position reports to the Superintendent and is non-exempt, with compensation of $43,680 annualized.

The handyperson will perform maintenance and minor repairs, maintain cleanliness, and respond to emergencies after hours, ensuring safety and compliance with NYC property-management standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of trades such as plumbing, electricity and carpentry.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Able to repair rooms to move-in ready in a timely manner.
• On-call after hours for emergencies and special situations.
• Familiarity with NYC property-management sanitation, building and maintenance rules.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and mop lobby, hallways and stairs daily.
• Clean sidewalks up to 18 inches into the street.
• Clean bathrooms and common areas.
• Empty office trash and clean compactor rooms daily.
• Paint over graffiti and repair holes in stairways.
• Remove snow and ice as needed.
• Perform minor repairs and assist Superintendent.
• Assist with ensuring compliance with sanitation codes.
