Job summary

CAE x SIMCOM is seeking an On‑Call Instructor Pilot to deliver ground school and simulator training to customers on an on‑call basis. The role focuses on tailoring training to individual progress, with lesson planning, classroom and simulator setup, and up‑to‑date training materials.

The ideal candidate has ATP and PIC ratings, 3,000 flight hours, and strong teaching and English communication skills. Travel may be occasional; position is part‑time, based in the US.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or state‑issued equivalent.
• Minimum of 3,000 total flight hours.
• Hold an unrestricted ATP certificate and one unrestricted PIC type rating.
• A passion for teaching supported by strong communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office and other internet‑based programs).
• Must participate in CAE’s DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program.
• Must be authorized to live/work in the United States.
• Excellent fluency in English (spoken and written).
• Strong listening and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• As an Instructor Pilot, provide standardized training in the classroom and/or simulator (unless specifically requires the aircraft) for events such as Captain Upgrades, Initial/Recurrent Training, and PIC/SIC Evaluations.
• Conduct ground and simulator training for Customers at SIMCOM.
• Keep accurate records, complete proper paperwork and submit required documents in a timely manner.
• Evaluate Customers progress in gaining skills and knowledge by SIMCOM standards.
• Serve as a liaison between customers and training center managers.
• If authorized as TCE for CAE x SIMCOM, conduct Proficiency Checks and Certification Checks under FAR 135/142.
