Job summary

Plus One, an Optum Company, is seeking an On-Call Exercise Specialist in Chesterfield, MO, to support healthy lifestyle habits at a high-profile fitness center. The role involves conducting fitness consultations, designing progressive programs, and guiding safe use of gym equipment while educating members on wellness options.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree or a NCCA-certified PT, CPR/AED and First Aid, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology or a related field, or a NCCA-accredited personal training certification.
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
• Industry knowledge in exercise testing and prescription, and ability to operate fitness tools/equipment.
• Ability to network, engage and interact with all clients, guests and members.
• Competence with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Conduct ongoing fitness consultations, movement screens, needs analyses and goal setting to recommend programming.
• Develop progressive fitness programming to support participants and ensure a positive experience.
• Monitor and instruct participants in safe use of cardio, flexibility, and strength equipment.
• Educate participants on health information and available wellness services.
• Complete internal development courses through a learning management platform.
• Maintain positive customer and client experience with high-quality service.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field
