Job summary

Clean Harbors in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking an Environmental General Laborer to perform field tasks involved in hazardous waste clean-up, site remediation, and equipment decontamination. The role requires lifting, heavy labor, PPE usage, and readiness for emergency responses across shifts.

New hires attend a two-week Academy out-of-state with expenses covered and paid training. The position includes a Monday–Friday schedule with early start times, overtime after 40 hours, and potential travel

Qualifications

Reliable transportation required.
Ability to perform physical functions per key responsibilities.
On-call availability for emergency response as needed.
Successful completion of background check, drug test, and medical examination if required.
Compliance with OSHA respiratory protection standards.

Responsibilities

Ensure health and safety is the top priority by following policies and safe practices.
Engage in strenuous physical labor including lifting heavy objects.
Operate light and heavy equipment and use various hand tools and PPE correctly.
Work in varying temperatures and weather conditions, indoors and outdoors.
Respond to emergency calls and participate in site remediation and hazardous material handling.
