Job summary

WestLand Engineering and Environmental Services, a Trinity Consultants team, seeks on-call Archaeology Field Technicians for its growing California Cultural Resources program. The role includes field surveys, testing, data recovery excavations, and lab follow-up work with strong teamwork and organizational skills.

Qualifications include an associate degree in Archaeology/Anthropology or related field (bachelor's preferred), field and lab archaeology experience, and proficiency with Microsoft

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field required; bachelor's preferred.
• Experience in both field and laboratory archaeology.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, creative team environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Pedestrian survey and shovel testing in the field.
• Map STPs and survey transects using handheld devices.
• Record field methods and findings on field forms.
• Photography of fieldwork, sites and related subjects.
• Archaeological site recording under supervision.
• Maintain and organize field equipment and library materials.
• Support laboratory maintenance and artifact processing tasks.
• Ensure safety and follow project timelines and budgets.
