Job summary

Chronicle Heritage is seeking an On‑Call Field Technician/Staff Archaeologist in Memphis, TN. The role supports the Field Director and project team performing pedestrian surveys, monitoring, testing, and site recording with rotations of 10 days on, 4 days off.

Per diem provided for out-of-town assignments; lodging provided. Pay range is $20–$22 per hour. Local candidates preferred; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in archaeology, anthropology, or a closely related field.
• Successful completion of an archaeology field school or equivalent experience.
• 4 months or more of survey fieldwork experience.
• Frequent out-of-town travel and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist Field Director and Project Team in pedestrian surveys, monitoring, testing, site delineation and recording.
• Support projects across Arkansas, Mississippi, and Tennessee; lodging and per diem provided for out-of-town stays.
