Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking a Facilities Manager for the Wang YMCA to maintain the branch’s physical condition, safety and presentation. You will oversee non-complex building systems, conduct in-house repairs, and coordinate with the Facilities Director to ensure reliable operations.

Responsibilities include daily maintenance, documentation of systems, managing preventive tasks, and serving as a liaison for inspections and capital projects, with after-hours on-call as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; advanced degree preferred.
• Hands-on repairs to basic plumbing, electrical and grounds gear.
• Facility certification in major discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

• General building and grounds maintenance, including minor carpentry, cleaning, electrical, and plumbing.
• Operate and document building systems (alarms, lighting, water, HVAC, elevators).
• Contract maintenance and repairs, schedule work, and maintain records.
• Liaise with program directors for permits, inspections, and certifications.
• Collaborate with Aquatics Director on pool, steam, and sauna systems.
