The YMCA of Greater New York is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to manage HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry systems at the YMCA and off-sites. You will perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and routine cleaning, ensuring safety and cleanliness across spaces.

The role requires a High School diploma, 3–5 years of maintenance experience, knowledge of cleaning methods, and the ability to work flexible hours, weekends, and on-call shifts. Pool maintenance knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years of maintenance and building construction work experience with progressive responsibility.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment; basic upkeep of equipment.

Responsabilités

• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and swimming pool equipment where applicable.
• Perform building construction work as directed by branch leadership.
• Clean all bathrooms, classrooms, locker rooms, Fitness Center, offices, Gymnasium, and all spaces within the branch.
• Store deliveries, move furniture, set up/break down rooms, and remove snow.
• Strip and wax floors and shampoo rugs as needed.
• Inform the Property Manager of all building issues.
• Responsible for painting when assigned.
• Follow DOH, DOB, FDNY, HPD, and ECB standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
