Job summary

Bernstein Management Corporation is seeking a Building Engineer to provide professional, courteous maintenance for Telestar Court, Hamaker Court, and Merrifield Ave. The role has no supervisory responsibilities but requires proactive upkeep of building systems and grounds.

You will handle tenant requests, coordinate contractors, and assist with budget control while upholding safety standards and a strong customer-service mindset.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required
• 2-4 years of commercial maintenance experience
• Proven ability to perform maintenance tasks safely and efficiently

Responsibilities

• Test and replace parts in plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
• Identify and implement preventative maintenance changes
• Evaluate facility and grounds to meet standards and schedule tests
• Handle tenant service requests within the Manager's timetable
• Assist Manager in controlling maintenance expenditures
• Coordinate contractor work and inspect completed projects
• Maintain storage, boiler room, and other areas in an organized state
• Maintain fire and safety standards across the portfolio
• Be familiar with building systems (fire alarm, plumbing, electrical, HVAC)
• Assist with evaluating operational standards and staffing for maintenance
• Be on call after hours and weekends for emergencies
