Job summary

iCare Financial Services seeks a Maintenance Assistant to perform a range of standard maintenance and repair tasks across center grounds and facilities. You will follow directions from the maintenance director/supervisor and ensure the building is clean, safe and well-maintained.

Responsibilities include basic repairs on handrails, wiring, plumbing, carpentry, and ensuring equipment such as HVAC, fire alarms, and lighting are serviced.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Must be able to read, write and understand English.
• Basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.
• Ability to push, pull or lift weights up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to crouch, squat or stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with and follows directions from the maintenance director/supervisor.
• Maintains the building and grounds in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
• Maintains and repairs basic functions of the center as determined by the maintenance director/supervisor.
• Takes care of the tools and equipment.
• Makes minor repairs on handrails, windows, flooring walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkling systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers, changes filters on HVAC equipment.
• Assumes supervisor's responsibilities in his/her absence.
• Remains on call for emergencies seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day.
• Puts Customer Service First: Ensures that customers and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights.
• Performs other duties as requested.
